At 0915 you fix your position 040°T, 2.8 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 276°T at 4.5 kn until 0935, then 110°T at 9.0 kn until 0955.

Give the 0955 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
