At 0905 you fix your position 061°T, 3.1 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 262°T at 4.7 kn until 0920, then 183°T at 7.8 kn until 0930.

Give the 0930 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
