At 1555 you fix your position 129°T, 1.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 236°T at 7.5 kn until 1635, then 085°T at 5.2 kn until 1705.

Give the 1705 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
