At 1540 you fix your position 058°T, 2.8 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 248°T at 9.4 kn until 1620, then 316°T at 7.8 kn until 1640.

Give the 1640 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
