At 1105 you fix your position 057°T, 4.2 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 244°T at 4.9 kn until 1125, then 085°T at 6.8 kn until 1140.

Give the 1140 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
