At 1205 you fix your position 050°T, 2.2 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 181°T at 8.5 kn until 1225, then 275°T at 4.9 kn until 1250.

Give the 1250 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
