At 0815 you fix your position 254°T, 2.1 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 117°T at 5.5 kn until 0835, then 199°T at 5.2 kn until 0855.

Give the 0855 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
