At 1205 you fix your position 308°T, 2.6 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 279°T at 4.1 kn until 1215, then 172°T at 5.4 kn until 1245.

Give the 1245 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
