At 1555 you fix your position 354°T, 1.7 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 061°T at 4.7 kn until 1620, then 204°T at 7.3 kn until 1635.

Give the 1635 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
