Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 33007
Two legs from a 1410 fix: where is the 1450 DR?
At 1410 you fix your position 299°T, 1.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 187°T at 4.8 kn until 1435, then 284°T at 7.1 kn until 1450.
Give the 1450 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
