At 1425 you fix your position 265°T, 1.9 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 214°T at 5.8 kn until 1435, then 287°T at 6.7 kn until 1445.

Give the 1445 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
