At 1525 you fix your position 228°T, 3.1 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 158°T at 7.6 kn until 1545, then 350°T at 7.7 kn until 1620.

Give the 1620 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
