At 1405 you fix your position 233°T, 2.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 144°T at 6.1 kn until 1415, then 066°T at 7.2 kn until 1445.

Give the 1445 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
