Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 38005
Two legs from a 0900 fix: where is the 1010 DR?
At 0900 you fix your position 061°T, 3.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 220°T at 5.3 kn until 0945, then 258°T at 7.4 kn until 1010.
Give the 1010 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
