At 0725 you fix your position 066°T, 2.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 214°T at 5.6 kn until 0735, then 112°T at 7.3 kn until 0755.

Give the 0755 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
