At 1455 you fix your position 292°T, 1.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 145°T at 4.1 kn until 1515, then 315°T at 4.8 kn until 1530.

Give the 1530 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
