At 1515 you fix your position 018°T, 1.7 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 061°T at 4.9 kn until 1530, then 138°T at 4.6 kn until 1540.

Give the 1540 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
