At 0910 you fix your position 049°T, 1.6 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 140°T at 7.0 kn until 0950, then 322°T at 6.2 kn until 1005.

Give the 1005 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
