Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 47002
Two legs from a 1035 fix: where is the 1130 DR?
At 1035 you fix your position 127°T, 1.7 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 244°T at 9.7 kn until 1100, then 007°T at 8.3 kn until 1130.
Give the 1130 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
