At 0725 you fix your position 036°T, 1.9 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 251°T at 8.3 kn until 0805, then 336°T at 8.6 kn until 0820.

Give the 0820 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
