At 0930 you fix your position 059°T, 1.8 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 346°T at 5.4 kn until 0940, then 157°T at 8.1 kn until 1000.

Give the 1000 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
