At 1230 you fix your position 348°T, 3.2 nm from Mill stack. You steer 337°T at 5.2 kn until 1315, then 134°T at 4.3 kn until 1355.

Give the 1355 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
