At 0710 you fix your position 241°T, 2.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 175°T at 9.5 kn until 0720, then 292°T at 6.5 kn until 0745.

Give the 0745 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
