At 1120 you fix your position 291°T, 2.9 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 187°T at 7.3 kn until 1150, then 300°T at 8.9 kn until 1215.

Give the 1215 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
