At 0700 you fix your position 052°T, 3.5 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 156°T at 9.9 kn until 0710, then 057°T at 5.9 kn until 0755.

Give the 0755 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
