At 1510 you fix your position 020°T, 2.1 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 341°T at 6.3 kn until 1555, then 273°T at 4.3 kn until 1630.

Give the 1630 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
