At 1405 you fix your position 142°T, 1.9 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 118°T at 4.9 kn until 1430, then 085°T at 5.4 kn until 1445.

Give the 1445 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
