At 1415 you fix your position 093°T, 2.0 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 021°T at 6.5 kn until 1445, then 135°T at 5.1 kn until 1455.

Give the 1455 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
