At 1140 you fix your position 318°T, 1.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 231°T at 4.1 kn until 1225, then 359°T at 6.4 kn until 1245.

Give the 1245 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
