At 1140 you fix your position 226°T, 2.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 292°T at 7.9 kn until 1220, then 070°T at 7.1 kn until 1230.

Give the 1230 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
