At 0940 you fix your position 274°T, 2.5 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 174°T at 9.2 kn until 1005, then 092°T at 4.9 kn until 1025.

Give the 1025 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
