Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 66004
Two legs from a 1230 fix: where is the 1325 DR?
At 1230 you fix your position 127°T, 1.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 357°T at 7.8 kn until 1310, then 195°T at 5.9 kn until 1325.
Give the 1325 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
