At 1135 you fix your position 063°T, 3.5 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 202°T at 6.0 kn until 1150, then 131°T at 4.9 kn until 1230.

Give the 1230 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
