At 1520 you fix your position 259°T, 3.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 147°T at 8.4 kn until 1545, then 099°T at 7.4 kn until 1620.

Give the 1620 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
