At 1505 you fix your position 046°T, 1.8 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 067°T at 4.5 kn until 1520, then 117°T at 6.2 kn until 1545.

Give the 1545 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
