At 1355 you fix your position 238°T, 3.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 312°T at 8.8 kn until 1405, then 189°T at 6.1 kn until 1415.

Give the 1415 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
