At 1155 you fix your position 067°T, 3.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 340°T at 7.7 kn until 1205, then 259°T at 4.7 kn until 1240.

Give the 1240 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
