At 1020 you fix your position 033°T, 2.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 289°T at 6.4 kn until 1035, then 124°T at 7.3 kn until 1115.

Give the 1115 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
