At 1450 you fix your position 235°T, 2.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 053°T at 7.5 kn until 1500, then 088°T at 5.9 kn until 1545.

Give the 1545 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
