At 0930 you fix your position 241°T, 1.7 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 282°T at 8.9 kn until 1000, then 150°T at 5.9 kn until 1035.

Give the 1035 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
