At 1410 you fix your position 238°T, 3.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 022°T at 6.0 kn until 1435, then 155°T at 4.5 kn until 1445.

Give the 1445 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
