At 1250 you fix your position 286°T, 3.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 148°T at 8.4 kn until 1315, then 245°T at 7.7 kn until 1330.

Give the 1330 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
