At 0815 you fix your position 066°T, 3.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 147°T at 5.0 kn until 0835, then 229°T at 4.2 kn until 0905.

Give the 0905 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
