At 1320 you fix your position 037°T, 2.4 nm from Mill stack. You steer 008°T at 6.2 kn until 1340, then 200°T at 9.2 kn until 1350.

Give the 1350 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
