At 0725 you fix your position 057°T, 1.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 355°T at 4.2 kn until 0800, then 127°T at 4.5 kn until 0815.

Give the 0815 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
