At 0900 you fix your position 336°T, 2.2 nm from Mill stack. You steer 051°T at 8.5 kn until 0940, then 248°T at 6.4 kn until 1015.

Give the 1015 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
