At 0740 you fix your position 230°T, 2.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 111°T at 5.0 kn until 0750, then 199°T at 4.9 kn until 0800.

Give the 0800 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
