At 1245 you fix your position 267°T, 1.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 286°T at 9.8 kn until 1255, then 230°T at 8.0 kn until 1305.

Give the 1305 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
