At 1535 you fix your position 244°T, 2.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 128°T at 7.1 kn until 1605, then 219°T at 6.0 kn until 1620.

Give the 1620 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
