At 1040 you fix your position 328°T, 1.3 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 306°T at 4.9 kn until 1125, then 076°T at 4.2 kn until 1205.

Give the 1205 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
